The two-foot teenager: Jyoti, the world's smallest girl set to make it big on British TV

Her tiny form is disarming. But Jyoti Amge's dreams are as big as those of her friends.

At 15 she stands just 1ft 11½in tall and weighs less than a stone, giving her one very big claim to fame - as the smallest girl in the world.

Doctors believe Jyoti is a pituitary dwarf but have never been able to pinpoint her condition.

Such dwarfism is caused when the body fails to produce enough growth hormone

Specialists have told her she will remain the same size for the rest of her life.

'When I was three I realized that I was different to the rest of the kids,' she said.

'I thought that everyone was bigger and I should get bigger too.'

Jyoti has her own mini grey uniform and school bag and even a tiny desk. But she looks like a doll next to her teenage classmates.

She said: 'I am proud of being the smallest girl. I love all the attention I get. I'm not scared of being small, and I don't regret being small.

She works from her custom made chair and table but her pens and books are still rather too large for her

'I am sure there are many people in this world who are dwarfs like me.

'I'm just the same as other people. I eat like you, dream like you. I don't feel any different.'

Weighing 12lb - only 9lb more than her weight at birth, Jyoti dreams of becoming an actress.

Despite her size she insists on living as normal a life as possible in her home town of Nagpur in India - including going to the local school.

'When I first went to school everyone was so big I used to get scared but I'm okay now, I like it. I have a different desk and chair that were made for me. I'm a normal student.'

She is also like any other teenage girl. 'I have a huge collection of dresses. I like to shop for more. Everyone in my family gets things for me. I love make-up and like dressing up like beautiful models. I would like to be an actress when I grow up. My dream is to do films.'

Jyoti has already had a taste of fame in a pop video for Indian star Mika Singh.

'They asked her to appear in the video for a song on his album,' said her mother Ranjana Amge, 45.

However, Jyoti's dreams of stardom could be ruined because of fractures to both her legs that have never healed because of problems with her size.

First I could walk, but I slipped on ice during a holiday and hurt my leg. I find it strange that my legs just don't heal. I don't like it, it causes me pain.'

Mrs Amge said: 'No-one knows why she is so small. Jyoti is small, yet cute, and we love her very much.'

People in the region of India where the family live flock to see the teenager and some even treat her as a goddess.

She receives a lot of support from her brother and two sisters. Oldest sister Archana, 25, said: 'I have been taking care of her since she was a small baby. She is so delicate and fragile.'

During her first five years of life, brave Jyoti was in and out of hospital as she constantly fell sick, but eventually she grew stronger.

The teenager's father Kishan Amge, 52, a construction worker, said: 'She makes me proud. Lots of saints and spiritual gurus come to see and bless her. They pray for her happiness and long life.'

Jyoti is to be featured in Channel 4's Body shock series, which goes out tomorrow night at 9pm

What could he do to help his daughter. He consulted his wizards and
magicians. One wizard told the king, "If your daughter touches one
thing that does not melt in her hands, she will be cured."

The king was overjoyed. The next day, he held a
competition. Any man that could bring his daughter
an object that would not melt would marry her and
inherit the king's wealth. Three young princes took
up the challenge. The first prince brought a very
hard alloy of titanium. But alas, once the princess
touched it, it melted. The prince went away sadly.

The second prince brought a huge diamond, thinking that
diamond is the hardest substance in the world and surely,
it would not melt. But alas, once the princess touched it,
it melted. He too was sent away disappointed..

The third prince approached. He told the princess,
"Put your hand in the bag and feel what is in
there." The princess did as she was told, though she
turned red. She held it in
her hand. And it did not melt!!!

The king was overjoyed. Everybody in the kingdom was overjoyed.

Hero is a software engineer. He does not have a life worth speaking of.

He spends eighteen hours a day in the office working and browsing the

net.Heroine is a software engineer in the same company. She does not have a

life either. She spends eight hours in front of her PC, thirteen hours

in front of the TV and the remaining, sleeping.

One day, Hero meets Heroine in a staff meeting. They argue endlessly

about the insanity of Microsoft applications.. especially Outlook 2003.

Couple of such fights later, Heroine is found drinking coffee with Hero

in Office canteen.

"What is life?" asks the Hero looking at the vacuum right above her

head."I've been wondering too." sighs the heroine.

"Why are we fighting over Outlook 2003?" Hero drinks his black coffee.

"And why are we not talking about Lotus NOtes" Heroine sips her Latte.

Hero shakes his head. "It's not about software products. It is about

life. I guess life is much bigger than OUtlook 2003."

Heroine nods. "I think it is. I am not sure though. Do you know that

Microsoft has come up with a fix to that bug you've been using to prove

Outlook is a worthless piece of garbage?"

"Heroine," Hero is now determined, "From this moment onwards, I am not

discussing anything remotely related to software."

"Fine Hero," says Heroine, "Good bye then."

Hero then returns all the Sybase manuals to the library and rents out

"how to live a life?"

Heroine meanwhile gets into an altercation with the villain during a

conversation on Sharepoint server. Villain vows to format the hard disk

of the heroine. Heroine takes her PC and runs away from the cubicle

trying to escape from the villain's evil intentions. Since it is night

shift, no one comes to her rescue.

Hero, who has been reading "how to live a life" very seriously, suddenly

finds out that he loves the heroine as much as he used to love Tetris.

So hero messages Heroine on Yahoo Instant messenger. But there is no

reply. Hero does not understand it. He knows that the heroine is

supposed to be in night shift. What is she doing in Night shift if not

on Yahoo Instant Messenger? As far as he know that is what people are

supposed to do in night shift.

Hero senses trouble. He runs barefooted on the Information Superhighway

and reaches office just in time to see the villain snatch the PC out of

heroine's hands and type the command "Format C:\". When his fingers get

to the "Enter" key, hero delivers the killer punch on villain's face.

Villain is thrown back. But in the process he manages to press the Enter

key...

The world comes to a standstill. The sky roars. The Rain pours.

Heroine breaks down. Villain is on cloud nine. But our Hero isn't sad.

He is smiling. Villain cannot understand. Hero then says, "Villain, You

should learn DOS properly. Your grave mistake...". He shows the monitor

to Villain. The DOS command prompt says "Are you sure?". It is waiting

for a "Y" to commence the formatting operation. Hero then simply presses "N".

Villain cries in frustration "Nooooooo" and charges like a bull. Then

follows a lengthy fight. Heroine meanwhile calls the police and they

come right after hero beats the villain to pulp. Without asking any

questions, the police understand who is hero and who is villain and take

him into custody. Heroine, tears in her eyes, takes her PC, switches it

on and jumps with joy when she finds her favorite Calvin and Hobbs

collection in tact in her C drive.

"You saved my data" she exclaims.

"No, you saved it yourself." hero says.

"No.. Jesus saves. I don't" she cries.

"Nothing happened right." Hero consoles.

"Let us get married" heroine sheds some more tears, "I want someone by

my side to protect the Calvin and Hobbs collection on my PC".

"I love you Heroine" says the hero.

"I love you Hero" says the heroine.

"So you agree that Outlook 2003 is a bad product".

"No I don't. Why not we talk about Lotus nOtes?"

SOME INTERVIEW PREPARATION GUIDELINES FOR FRESHERS

Some resume writing tips

The first important thing is your resumes hould not have any grammatical or spelling mistakes.

I see many resumes without any proper alignment of the text.

* Use a good font and size.

* For a fresher it is always must to mention their percentages in the resume.

Some people mention only for their highest degree and not for all. This is not acceptable in most of the companies.

* Try to keep your highest degree as the first in the table.
* e-mail and phone number should be visible at first sight.

Please do not expect HR to search and find your mail-id in the resume. Some people keep their mail-id in the header of the doc. Try to avoid this practice. Double check your mail-id and phone number before sending your resume

Save the mail in your sent items whenever you apply to a company.

Do not apply to multiple companies in one mail. If you cannot avoid it at least use "BCC" instead of "To"

Do not keep your passport number in the resume, nobody will ask for that.

Do not keep more than three pages in your resume.

Make sure that your resume contains at least two very good projects but do not keep more than three.

Generally two are enough. The more the projects you keep the more the questions you face.

*Must be familiar with C, C++ and basic JAVA conceptsFollowing is the descending order of number questions from each subject interviewer will ask.

Data Structures (Very important) - Try to exercise simple programs on all types of data structures

Operating systems - Should be familiar with all basic concepts and definitions, try to learn some OS algorithms

The most important thing is confidence.

4>.Use paper if you are unable to explain. It is always easy explaining using a paper

5>. If you do not know something, say frankly. But the answer should not be "NO" to basic questions.

6>. Try to know about the company before attending the interview.

7>. You should be very familiar with your projects.

Please do not keep some application projects in your resume if you are an engineer. This is ok for MCAs.

Please keep in mind that interviewer does not know anything about your projects, he will ask questions only from your explanation.

Be well prepared about your projects.

I have personally seen many resumes got rejected in my company even after they cleared the written test because of bad resume and projects.

For management and HR rounds you should expose yourself that taking you into their company will be a big asset to them

Try to know about the company history, their area of working, no.of people, number of countries they work, CEO of the company and etc...
